Our Story

After needing marriage counseling early in our marriage, we sought help in our local church, but they didn’t have any ministries that could help us, but they did refer us to a licensed professional counselor. After going a few times and several hundred dollars later, we realized even as Christians, we didn’t know what a godly marriage looked like. We began to study Scripture together and apply it to our lives. Through this, the LORD put it on our hearts to help others. And so our journey began. We enrolled in bible college, got involved in recovery ministry within our local church, and started gaining interest in biblical counseling. After a class on discipleship and biblical counseling, the LORD led us to start Truth Renewed. Shauna left Corporate America in order to run TR full-time as a volunteer and counsel part-time while I worked and counseled part-time at TR. We started counseling in our church in 2014 and by 2015, the LORD provided our office in old downtown Keller. Truth Renewed is a 501(c)(3) and has been offering free biblical counseling since 2014–Truth Renewed is donation-only.
